“They are much to be pitied who have not been given a taste for nature early in life” – Mansfield Park
This is definitely one of the perks to being around babies/toddlers/young children… at any given moment – they are experiencing something for the very first time.
A fantastic reminder for us to slow down, take a look around, get down at their level and experience things with them – it’s amazing what a different perspective it can give you.
I’m not going to say much more about this this week – I’ve included a video to do this for you. A precious little girl experiencing a rainfall for the first time. My only complaint – everyone is watching from the sidelines.
I know parenting from the sidelines is a necessary step – but don’t make it too early. (This is something I’m reminding myself of). Let’s get down and dirty with our kids – roll in the mud, dance in the rain – make their first time a time for the history books, at least your history books.
